I took my friend on a long walk,

We looked at trees; we didn’t talk.

He stopped for things I could not see,

I heard the wind calling for me.

We held for cars, followed a bike,

I mocked a bird he didn’t like.

I kicked a ball over a fence.

I gave the kid twenty-five cents.

Me and my pal

We go on walks ev’ry Sunday

Me and my pal

We find our way

Somehow, someway.

I took my friend up to the lake,

Needed a place to numb the ache.

We sat a while. I tried my best

Then looped my arms around his chest.

I picked a cloud lost in the sky,

Gave it your name, started to cry.

He perked his head just for a beat,

Lowered his nose just by my feet.

Me and my pal

We go on walks ev’ry Sunday

Me and my pal

We find our way

Somehow, someway.

I took my friend back to the house

He fell asleep right by my toes.

I did not move. He was dreaming.

A hint of blues. You were missing.

Me and my pal

We go on walks ev’ry Sunday

Me and my pal

We find our way

Somehow, someway.

Me and my pal.
